We exist to close a specific gap: rigorous, assessable, safe-to-deliver AI training for the people the current market skips.
AI capability has become an employability requirement across almost every industry — faster than the training system can respond. Yet what's on offer is mostly one of three things: an hour-long awareness webinar with no assessment, vendor product training locked to a single platform, or university programs priced and pitched above school leavers, career changers and frontline workers.
No one owns the vocational middle — a rigorous, assessable, school-to-workforce AI pathway that a school can run safely and a TAFE can assess. That is what the AI Fundamentals Institute builds.
The scarcest resource in this sector is teaching capability. Every session is written so a competent trainer — not an AI engineer — can deliver it.
Every exam has an answer key; every rubric has descriptors. We ship the artefacts auditors and validation panels actually ask for.
At school levels: no student accounts on consumer AI, teacher-led delivery, and an unplugged option for every activity.
From early on, learners are taught to test AI — for bias, accuracy and reliability. Healthy scepticism is the point.
Concepts first; tools are interchangeable examples. The curriculum survives each product cycle.
No invented statistics, no fabricated citations, no over-claimed job outcomes — and clear flags on fast-moving content.
Honesty is part of the product. The four courses are developed to Australian Qualifications Framework specifications, but they are not yet accredited. Under national VET rules, only a Registered Training Organisation with a course on its scope of registration may issue an AQF "Certificate".
So today, the programs are delivered as non-accredited courses — for example, "Course in AI Fundamentals (Certificate III level)" — which institutions can offer immediately. In parallel, we're pursuing a formal accreditation pathway (independently and through co-accreditation with partners), and the curriculum is designed to map to the national AI units now being developed for the sector.
Whether you're a TAFE, an RTO, a school or a university — we'd love to show you the work.
